Testimonials

I highly recommend the Wagon Train trek, not because it was easy or even always fun, but because it made me better. I was impressed observing a group of people ages 9-70 learn to live outside together, and each do their part to make the trek.
— Jenifer Halter
There are those magical moments along the trail where we encounter a surprise visitor, cross through a field of wildflowers or stop to cool our toes in a crystal-clear stream.

Dad so enjoyed his associations with so many of you and his extended Wagon Train Family. It was an annual highlight for my parents for many, many years - and something of a legacy event...for Dad.

About Us

We are 4-H Wagon Train

Every year since 1982, the Washington County 4-H Wagon Train has provided opportunities for youth to experience a living history though club events and our annual one-week camp.

  • As the only 4-H Wagon Train club in the country we provide a one of a kind experience.

  • We maintain a strong core of invested and dedicated families; the youth of the 80's are now dedicated adult volunteers who participate with their families.

  • We create unique achievable goals, and provide a safe and structured path to learning, problem-solving and personal growth.

  • Youth who have flourished through 4-H Wagon Train now share their ability to lead, provide acceptance, and problem-solve.

  • An outreach program that values and respects the diversity of our membership, and provides stewardship of the natural world.

  • Lasting partnerships and friendships.
